About
The Counter Brief is a small team, the AI tools we actually use, and a strong point of view.
Founded and edited by Aditya Marin Gasga, with a small, growing editorial team. Independent and anti-hype, every claim source-checked. Built openly with AI; everything published is read, edited, and signed off by a human.
What it covers
Five pillars, and that's it. The goal is to spare you the chore of skimming every AI launch post and feed; you read The Counter Brief and walk away knowing what changed and what to do about it.
- News. The launches and decisions that move the field: short, timely, sourced.
- Models. Side-by-sides, real-cost breakdowns, capability tests on actual workloads.
- Explainers. Plain-language versions of how things work, for people who can read a paper but don't want to.
- Playbooks. Workflows you can copy on Monday morning.
- Tools. What's worth paying for, what isn't, updated as it moves.
Who's behind it
A small, growing editorial team. Aditya Marin Gasga is the founding editor; Adithya Sulaiman and Nishtha Gupta write from the operator's seat at Demand Nexus, The Counter Brief's parent company. Every byline is a real person, accountable for their words: no ghostwriters, no invented masthead, no filler bylines. AI does the legwork of a newsroom; a human signs off on every piece.
How AI shows up
The site is AI-native end-to-end: research, grounding against real sources, drafting, image generation, and the editorial quality gate all run through a documented pipeline. Every piece still requires human sign-off before it ships. Read the full editorial standards for what's automated, what isn't, and how things get fact-checked.
